Abstract Text This diploma thesis deals with the research field ""Context Awareness"". While common research focuses on the determination of context per se, delivering context information to the environment has taken less into account. To increase productivity, it is very important to consider delivery and use of this information. The goal of this thesis is to make context information available in a very intuitive way. The thesis is applied to an office-based-setup. The derived context information corresponds to the availability or interruptability of the person in the office. This information is passed on to visitors. The developed application is based on actual research findings about user interface design and usability.
Zusammenfassung Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem aktuellen Forschungsgebiet „Context Awareness“. Während sich der allgemeine Forschungsfokus vorwiegend auf die Bestimmung des Kontextes per se richtet, wurde bis jetzt der Vermittlung der Kontextinformation an das Umfeld weniger Rechnung getragen. Um aber die erwünschten Produktivitäststeigerungen zu erreichen, welche von dieser Forschung erwartet werden, darf die Vermittlung der Kontextinformation und ihre Verwendung nicht vernachlässigt werden. Das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit ist es, Kontextinformation möglichst intuitiv zugänglich zu machen. Dies wird in einem Arbeitsplatz-Umfeld umgesetzt, wobei der erfasste Kontext der Unterbrechbarkeit bzw. Verfügbarkeit der Person im Büro entspricht. Die Kontextinformation wird an allfällige Besucher weitergegeben. Die im Rahmen dieser Diplomarbeit erstellte Applikation berücksichtigt die aktuellen Kenntnisse bezüglich User-Interface Design und Usability.
