Abstract Text | In the area of E-Learning and Game Base Learning†there is significant interest in the understanding of Flow; and utilisation of the positive aspects of Flow. One of the main questions is related to the behaviour of users in the flow status: Are there significant physiological differences between people who are in Flow state, and those who are not? Of further interest is the question, whether users interact differently at the user interface in both conditions. In order to investigate this question, a reproducible test was designed and created. An adaptable learning game allows subjects to either gain flow status or hinders them. While playing the game the subjects' interactions with the GUI and their EEG (Electroencephalogram) were recorded. The analysis of the resulting data showed, there were indeed distinctive differences in physiological reactions and in user interactions between subjects in Flow state and those who were not. |
