Abstract Text This thesis provides researchers in the field of time use with an interactive visualization of data collected by the Centre for Time Use Research. The visualization aims to yield valua-ble insight on how time is allocated by different individuals with different backgrounds. Within the scope of this thesis, the visualization was built from scratch to fit the needs of a single researcher. The design process and critical decisions in building the visualization are illustrated and documented. The insight gained from this visualization opens up the possibility to gain an overview of the data, support the interpretation of it and help draw connections between the use of ICT and its impact on time allocation.
Zusammenfassung Diese Bachelorarbeit erleichtert Forschern das interaktive Untersuchen von Daten des Centre for Time Use Research. Die im Rahmen dieser Arbeit entwickelte Visualisierung liefert Einsicht in die Zeiteinteilung von Individuen mit unterschiedlichem Hintergrund. Die Visualisierung wurde entwickelt und angepasst auf die Bedürfnisse eines einzelnen Forschers. Der Entwicklungsprozess und kritische Entscheidungen werden dargestellt und erklärt. Die Visualisierung ermöglicht es, einen Überblick über die Daten zu erhalten, hilft bei deren Interpretation und erlaubt Schlussfolgerungen zu ziehen, wie sich die Nutzung von ICT auf die Zeiteinteilung von Individuen auswirkt.
