Abstract Text | Economists have confined the concept of "sustainability" to intertemporal distributional equity.We propose a broader definition, combining dynamic efficiency and intergenerational equity, and relate it to two concepts from neoclassical economics: potential Pareto-improvements and inter-personal compensation. |
