| Abstract Text | This thesis deals with project management methodologies in the area of information technologies. The objective was to find ways to improve practical methods needed for implementation of IT-projects in a mid-sized IT Services Company. In a first step the practical approach for implementing IT-projects at ‘Axpo Informatik AG’ was investigated. Then the procedures and methods were compared with the specified standard procedures at Axpo and with the Best Practice approaches. Above comparisons were done for the areas of ‘project planning’, ‘risk management’, ‘proposal management’, ‘change request management’, ‘communications and reporting’. For each field the weaknesses were identified with the GAP-analysis approach. The analysis points out, that the defined methods and procedures are often not followed appropriately. Especially the sub-processes ‘risk management’ and ‘change request management’ are being neglected. Based on the outcome of the analyses, several recommendations for improving the methodology on specific sub-processes or on inter-disciplinary processes were elaborated. The most significant measures focus on the consequent enforcement of consistent project management methods, the standardisation of several supportive tools and the thorough specification of requirements. |
| Zusammenfassung | Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Projektmanagement-Methodiken in der Informatik. Das Ziel war anhand des Untersuchungsgegenstandes - der praktischen Durchführung von IT-Projekten bei einem mittelgrossen IT-Dienstleistungsbetrieb-Empfehlungen für die Verbesserungen der dort verwendeten Verfahren abzugeben. Hierfür wurde als erstes das Vorgehen in der Axpo Informatik AG evaluiert und anschliessend dem existierenden Standardvorgehen sowie Best Practices gegenübergestellt. Mittels einer Gap-Analyse konnten so existierende Schwächen identifiziert werden, fokussiert auf die fünf Teilgebiete Projektplanung, Risikomanagement, Angebotserstellung, Change Request Management sowie Kommunikation und Berichtswesen. Dabei konnte festgestellt werden, dass die vorhandenen Methodiken in vielen Fällen nicht angewendet werden, und insbesondere den Teilprozesse Risikomanagement und Change Request Management nicht genügend Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wird. Aufbauend auf den so gewonnenen Erkenntnissen werden verschiedene Empfehlungen abgegeben, einerseits teilgebietsspezifisch, andererseits themenübergreifend. Als wichtigste Massnahmen kristallisierten sich die konsequente Durchsetzung einer konsistenten Projektmanagement-Methodik, deren Verwendung für alle Projekte verbindlich ist und die Standardisierung der zu verwendenden Hilfsinstrumente sowie der sorgfältigen Spezifikation von Anforderungen heraus. |
