| Abstract Text | Project management is constantly changing and currently moving beyond the management of documents and reports towards a complex system incorporating aspects of virtual collaboration, IT communication and long-term storage and distribution of knowledge. Project managers must be responsible for the traceability and distribution of information and precise definition of work procedures, in addition to the product side of a project. A platform-integrating process representation with data management and communication support provides a suitable tool for project management. The current paper investigates traditional and flexible project management methods and explains the requirements for a modern project management platform. A wide range of products suitable for use as project management software is available on the market. A range of freely available and commercially marketed products are examined with a view to assessing their suitability and the current status of developments. A prototype of a modern project management platform has been implemented using the „Plone“ ECMS, prepared for use in a current project at the Department of Informatics (IFI) at the University of Zurich. |
| Zusammenfassung | Projektmanagement verändert sich laufend und entwickelt sich in der heutigen Zeit vom Management von Dokumenten und Reports hin zu einem komplexen System, welches durch Aspekte der virtuellen Zusammenarbeit, der informationstechnischen Kommunikation und der dauerhaften Speicherung und Verteilung von Wissen ergänzt wird. Projektleiter sind aufgefordert, sich nebst der Produkt-Seite eines Projekts auch um die Nachverfolgung und Verteilung von Informationen und die genaue Definition von Arbeitsabläufen zu kümmern. Für diese Unterstützung eignet sich eine Plattform mit Prozessabbildung, Datenmanagement und Kommunikationsunterstützung. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht traditionelle und agile Projektmanagementmethoden und erläutert die Anforderungen für eine moderne Projektmanagement-Plattform. Auf dem Markt ist eine Vielzahl von Produkten erhältlich, welche sich für den Einsatz als Projektmanagement-Software eignet. Untersucht wird eine Auswahl aus frei verfügbaren wie auch kommerziell vertriebenen Produkten, um deren Eignung und den aktuellen Stand der Entwicklungen zu erläutern. Ein Prototyp einer modernen Projektmanagement-Plattform wird auf Basis des ECMS „Plone“ umgesetzt und für den Einsatz in einem laufenden Projekt am Institut für Informatik der Universität Zürich vorbereitet. |
