| Abstract Text | IT Governance is a very topical issue in many companies. Even at universities a change is in progress and the need for appropriate IT Governance structures and decision-making processes grows. This work considers first the bases in the literature on organization theory, IT Governance and universities. In the main part of the study through interviews organizational structures, decision-making processes from five decision-domains and SWOT analysis at 14 universities in Germany have been collected, recorded and the processes were mapped as event-process chains. This shows typical pattern of IT Governance structures. Combined with various environment variables hints and approaches to solutions are made, how IT Governance at universities in the future can be built. |
| Zusammenfassung | IT-Governance ist ein sehr aktuelles Thema in vielen Unternehmen. Auch an Hochschulen zeichnet sich ein Wandel ab und der Bedarf an geeigneten IT-Governance Strukturen und Entscheidungsprozessen wächst. Diese Arbeit betrachtet zuerst die Grundlagen in der Literatur zur Organisationslehre, zur ITGovernance und zu Hochschulen. Im Hauptteil der Studie wurden mittels Interviews Organisationsstrukturen, Entscheidungsvorgänge aus fu?nf Entscheidungsdomänen und SWOT-Analysen an 14 Hochschulen in Deutschland erhoben, protokolliert sowie die Vorgänge mit Ereignis-Prozess- Ketten dargestellt. Daraus lassen sich typische Muster der IT-Governance-Strukturen erkennen. Kombiniert mit verschiedenen Umfeldvariablen ergeben sich damit Hinweise und Lösungsansätze, wie IT-Governance an Hochschulen in Zukunft aufgebaut werden kann. |
