Abstract Text | We built a prototype application enabling fair group formation in educational settings and tested our prototype in a real university setting. We determined the most important requirements of our main stakeholder, the students. In a careful examination of the requirements we determined that they can be grouped along the following four dimensions: 1) Collaborative Decision-making, 2) Agency, 3) Auditability and 4) Transparency. We designed and developed a prototype over the course of three iterations. Our main contributions are introducing a new agency related feature, allowing students to chose a preferential teammate, and designing for and evaluating for perceived fairness. Further we examined satisfaction among students using both qualitative and quantitative data. |
