Abstract Text | In this work, I present a tree based approach to estimate the cardinality of a query and its sub-queries. The tree based estimation divides the whole query into smaller sub-queries. The approach then employs neural networks for each sub-query and estimate its cardinality. Our approach can be applied to the planning tree in database systems, addressing the weakness of other approaches that they do not provide cardinality for sub-queries. The evaluation of the approach, based on a real-world dataset, shows that it has the potential to help database systems to choose the optimal query plan. |
