Abstract Text | In our modern economic and societal environment, Fintech is omnipresent and currently denotes a new, innovative, and emerging field, which is indispensable in today’s financial sector. Neobanks are a part of the Fintech movement and are increasingly becoming an important player in the retail banking sector, challenging traditional financial institutions and their business models. Since it is, however, a recent development, the scientific literature is scarce, which is why this thesis tries to fill the research gap. The author attempts to analyse the business model of a Neobank using a conceptual framework and capture its essence in its entirety. The results of the thesis show the viability of a Neobank’s business model, how they compete in a saturated industry, and how they influence its competition. It is expected that this work will help readers understand the concept of a Neobank and use it for their own practical and academic purposes. |
