Abstract Text | This thesis analyses M&A activity in Switzerland on its profitability and on the factors, that effect their returns. This study found that M&As in Switzerland generally yield a negative return of -0.63%. However, this result remains statistically insignificant. Further, it is suggested that domestic deals and related deals are associated with high positive abnormal returns. In contrast, cross-border acquisitions and diversifying deals yield to a negative abnormal return. In addition, it is shown that there is a positive relationship between the abnormal return and the transaction value, respectively the enterprise value. |
